Who we are
The Gamliel Institute trains Jewish communal leaders to educate, advocate and facilitate the organization of bereavement committees and Chevra Kadisha groups in Synagogues and other Jewish communities.
Based on over two thousand years of texts and traditions, we blend an understanding of communal obligation, care for the sick and elderly and consumer protection with the goals of Jewish continuity and spiritual inspiration.
We offer a certificate program and individual courses the covers life's spectrum of illness and comfort, death, funerals, burial and mourning. The program is offered through online classes, seminars, distance Chevruta study and . . .
Our courses are a series of twelve 90 minute online interactive classes held weekly. Homework consists of readings, Chevruta study and weekly written submissions to our website forums.
